Text Box: Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systems are great for home/personal and commercial/business uses. UV ray ranges from 200 nanometers to 390 nanometers (nm). Germicidal UV bulbs made of special quartz, are used in these systems and are usually placed above the water. The mercury in the bulb becomes ionized when vaporization occurs from the electric arc being heated and spreads off UV light. The process of purifying water using UV disinfection systems is very easy to understand. First, the water source enters an inlet of the system and through a quartz transparent sleeve. Second, the UV light placed above the specially designed tube; is then shone onto the passing water that goes through the tube. The UV rays from the bulb reflect and bounce of the tube. The passing water is then hit by UV rays which renders the DNA of viruses/bacteria to be harmless/useless to humans. Cleansed and purified water then leaves through the outlet nozzle. Optional accessories can be added such as a control panel, solenoid valve switches and flow restrictors.
